As a writer or just a human being,
we get frustrated over things. Be it big issues about ourselves: Our shortcomings,
disappointments in life, unachieved goals, unfinished business, undone works, and
undesired outcome; or about other people who pissed the hell out of us; or
maybe just silly things that we don’t seem to like. Things that comes out of
hand. Things that we can’t control. Things that just slip and get messed up- in
a snap. Just like that.
It just shows that you are only
human. That we can’t have everything we want. That some of the things don’t go
the way we expect it to be. Yeah, that’s one of the reason why we get
frustrated. Expectations.
Expectations that lead to Disappointments.
And we can’t accept it! Now, that’s
more frustrating. Acceptance.
As a writer, blogger, author,
journalist or any profession there is. We have our own expectations on our
works, literary pieces, blogs, stories, articles or other crafts that we do. We’ve
set our goals and what is that? To be acknowledged by other people. They may be bloggers
like us, writers, and even critics.
Why do we blog? Why do we write
stories? Why do we exert effort in doing all this stuffs if not for the acknowledgment?
Even just one bit.
We want our works to be somehow
recognize by other people, even just a single one. Because they are our
motivations to continue doing our crafts, they are our inspirations to always keep
trying. In return, we must meet their expectations from our works. We can’t just
publish a blog and then expect them to read it if it hasn’t even reach their
expectations.
But the thing is. You can’t
expect your blogs or articles to be known in just a snap. You can’t expect
yourself to be publishing your very own book in just about a week. And you can’t
expect yourself to be selling those books for like 1000 copies every single
day.
I mean who wouldn't want that to
happen? It’s like you’re living your dream but then again this is reality. You have
to go through all the hard work that I know many of the famous writers out
there have gone through. Like us, they start from scratch.
So starting from scratch is what I
do. I know it won’t be easy as selling pancakes on the sideline. How I wish
blogs and stories were just like pancakes because it’ll be way easier and you
don’t have to worry about writer’s block because you’re just gonna have to
follow the recipe.
So what are your expectations
that leads to frustration? You can share it with me.
